I've been natural for three and a half years and I've been using Original Moxie's products for nearly two of those years. It's the only brand that I've been using that long and after seeing my results after using their products, there's no question as to why that is.

In the spirit of today's Instagram's Throwback Thursday, I posted this pic of my ticket to 2011's "Natural is... Beautiful" event in NYC alongside a photo of me doing a demo of someone's hair using OM's products.
That was such a memorable experience for me. Original Moxie made my LIFE by flying me to NYC on my first brand ambassador duties. It was my first time in NYC and my first time doing someone else's hair in front of a huge crowd. Not only did I have a lot of fun at the event, but I also got the opportunity to meet and have dinner with Chescaleigh afterward. I say all of this to say it's been a pleasure to find out about a brand, love their products and then go on to work for them at different events. Rachel, the owner, has also become a good friend of mine. It's been a pleasurable experience all around!
One thing that I've always loved about Original Moxie was their focus on being environmentally friendly. They use all natural ingredients and encourage green practices. Ms. CharyJay, I think it would be fabulous to win a set of Moxie mini's. I am currently reevaluating the products I use for me and my daughters hair in an effort to use more natural products. ReplyDeleteI have fine 4c or d hair and have a very difficult time achieving definition. Any accomplishment of definition is gone by mid-day on any given. Watching what you have done with your hair with original moxie and knowing you've used it for two years, I'm convince this could be my answer for definition. And I would love to try a hair product that is strong enough to to really define my curls and capable of keeping them moisturized. I started off spending way too much money on products that did not work, now I'm down to a staple two. I would love to expand that to 3. I think that Original Moxie will complete my hair care regime. ReplyDeleteHello Chary, I have recently been on a search for natural products that will give my hair life, but as you probably already know they are hard to find on the ground or they cost an arm and a leg. I realize that my body puts out what I put into it, and that is why I am trying to go a more clean route with things that I use. I have been making my own homemade natural products, but I am limited to butters and oils being that I don;t know how to make cremes and conditioners etc. The Original Moxie line will allow me to try out an all natural product and possibly find products to add to my regimen. Anyway, I would love to try the Orignal Moxie products. I am kind new to the natural hair scene. I was not aware of all of the information and products that were available until reciently. I love that the Original Moxie products are all natural meaning that I can style and maintain my hair with out adding chemcicals to my body. I didn't go through a huge chop like you did I cut off all the broken hair and grew out the straight hair. It took officially a year for that and I am still in the beginning process of learning how to do protective styles. When I first met you I immediately fell in love with your hair and the fact that you have been using this product for so long makes me feel that it would be great for me to try and use as well. Being that i'm almost 2 years natural... Thats a BIG problem. I just couldn't find a way to deal with it. Now i'm proud to say that I treat my hair like its a diamond-studded crown instead of a mop of hay like i used to. As I am a Caribbean girl I find that all natural products are few and far between or really expensive *and I'm still in high school!!! so thats a bit for me!!*
So essentially I want to win these products to help put an ease to my newbie woes and to be happy in knowing that these products are good for my hair! Additionally I want to show persons that speak ill of my natural venture that I can look just as beautiful with my natural hair. I want to prove that it can look good and be healthy and show that natural hair is able to retain length when cared for properly. I know I have a ways to go but this is a good start for me!!

ReplyDeleteIt would be great for me to try these products. My hair is the thickest and the coarsest of them all! I think my hair's like a 4D!!! It seems like most of the products I use have so much trouble penetrating my hair shaft or gives me "0" shine. Hi Charjay, I have been natural for the past 3 1/2 years and I love my hair so freaking much! My goal is waist length in 2 years so I make sure I show my hair some love everyday. I'm always on the look out for new products. Nothing has really just worked for my hair for me to have it as a staple. My hair cooperates more when I am sticking to one product line as opposed to feeding the product junkie in me. I'd love to win the ORIGINAL MOXIE minis because ever since graduated college last May I've been trying to be more aware of the ingredients in the things that go inside my body and on the outside of it as well (including on my hair). I went natural in December of 2012 and I'm still learning and experimenting. I'd love to win the minis because I havent seen them in my area. Also Im saving for grad school, so I haven't signed up for Curlbox or any other boxes due to cost. I havent tried that many different products but I trust your reviews and love your results. Hi! I am a gray haired natural who loves keeping my hair looking the best. I try to encourage other mature gray naturals to try out different styles and to express themselves naturally. (We all don't have to wear a twa or afro because our hair textures has changed or we have 5 hair textures. I do!) I can''t use all products because they turn my hair yellow. I generally try products in the mini size first before I buy the full size to make sure they work. These products would be just the thing for me!

I have tried their Emollience and OMG I fell in love!! it left my hair feeling so soft and extremely moisturized. The smell WAS NOT the best but i'd definitely use again lol. I had a super small ( literally a dollar quarter size container) sample but that sample went a long way. I would definitely like to purchase that product as well as the others and possibly do a review for how it works on my 4b4c hair and post it on my youtube page.

To be perfectly honest, I need help! I transitioned for about 6 months, and finally did the big chop January of this year, so I'm pretty new at this. Don't get me wrong, i love my natural hair, but I've been struggling. My hair is always dry and lifeless. I've been going from one product to the next, and have yet to find one that gives me the Desired results. Due to this, i always wear it up in a ponytail, or revert to braids and sew-ins. By winning this giveaway, and having a product that actually compliments my hair, i feel like it will restore my faith in the decision i made to go natural in the first place, and i will fall in love again.

ReplyDeleteI've been natural for 3.5 yrs as well and I have one rule "Do not purchase any Item you cant find in your local store"... (Drug Store/beauty supply). I attend Meet Up's and get samples of items aren't on the ground and realize very quickly that although my favorite Vlogger had good results that may not be the case with me. I've had some products prove me wrong. Oyin being a good example, Their hair dew gives my hair life. But, that is the ONLY reason I haven't tried Original Moxie. I've seen bloggers use it and have good results but I haven't be able to get my hands on samples in Swag Bags. I would love to try the samples out and if I have good results from them I will get over the No Ground rule when it comes to them.

ReplyDeleteHey Chary Jay,about a year ago i tried to go natural because people i wanted to try something new and not many people my age and hair type (15 yrs old and 4C)are into that and im all about being different,but school kept me busy and i couldnt really style my hair because of dance team and dance class. I've always maintained a certain "hair regimine"(i hope i spelled regimine right lol)and limited how much heat went into my hair but since i have no experience on what's good for my hair, my ends always break off and i have to trim them every other month or something like that. I think this would be a good way to see if i like this product and want to invest in it while learning more about my hair in the process. I want to win these products because I am still trying to find what my hair likes as a new naturalista. I watch practically all of your videos and love what the products do to your hair. I also like the fact that these products are all natural because whenever I think I want to try something new, I always refrain from doing so because I am afraid that something in the ingredients will hurt my hair. With Original Moxie, I would not have to worry about that. :)

ReplyDeleteI've been natural since around 2006. During the beginning phase I did all the wrong things: texturizers and lack of proper hair styles. So, with no direction i got frustrated and went back relaxed. When I finally decided to go natural again, I grew locs and loved it. In 2010, I took my locs out, but still did things wrong with heat damage and too much excessive braid styles. And at the end of 2011 I found a natural hair meet up group and learned more about protective styles and started watching YouTube videos. I'm still learning and figuring what products works best for my 4B hair. I've heard good things about Original Moxie and I think I would be a great candidate! Pick me Chary-Jay!!! ;)

I love the original moxie products, especially the oasis gel. I had a sample of that before. My hair has been both long and short. It's currently short because it seems easier to manage in the humidity. I hope you pick me, as I've had much success in the past with original moxie samples.

I will say, that the pockets don't allow me to a snob...but I want to be. I generally stick to natural products, shea butter, apple cider rinses, and dr. bronner peppermint soap for my hair. But I will say my natural hair is very, soft. It's coily but still after 4 years of being natural I haven't found something that will really hold my twist outs or braid outs. It's bad. I recently chopped all my hair off and am starting over. My hair has a tendency to get dry pretty fast, so I'm looking for products with natural ingredients that can help me with maintaining moisture but not being too greasy. ReplyDeleteSo I've been natural for approximately two and a half years and I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan. The water here sucks so my hair is taking a beating. I love original Moxie but not a lot of companies will deliver to APO addresses so I'm stuck using cheap products that I can get. Sometimes little things make you happy while serving abroad.

ReplyDeleteKeeping it real, college student on summer break from school means no money=no products. I currently am protective styling in shoulder length box braids for about 2 months now and am too afraid to take them out without having products to restore my hair's moisture level. Moxie Mini's could do so much for me! And with a job this summer, God willing, I will be able to purchase full sized products of Moxie's that you have trusted for so long.

ReplyDeleteI am a BROOOOOOOKE college almost graduate,( t-15 days) I have zero dollars. I have been wearing protective styles but I feel like my hair isn't getting the moisture that it needs. August will make it my third year of being natural but I have never actually had the time to look for those staple, really moisturizing products. The products I currently use leave my hair needing moisture in what seems like hours and my hair feels dull and brittle. I hope I get the products.

I have been interested in Original Moxie ever since the very first time I saw you do a tutorial using the products. Unfortunately, I haven't bought Original Moxie yet because I am a poor, college student and I have already been burned by other products that people swore up and down on but fell through...cough cough Miss Jessie's. I would be overjoyed if I won this giveaway because I have truly been on a search for "Truly Natural" products that work well with my hair to no avail, my hair is ok but I believe it could be better and I hope Original Moxie can be the winning line that makes my hair camera ready. I'm not in a position at the moment to constantly spend on products that don't work well with my hair so this would enable me to try several products and hopefully find at least 2 or 3 that can become staples in my regimen. I believe your body is the sum of what u put in it which is why I've even gone so far as to email companies about removing certain "TOXIC CHEMICALS" from their products because I like the results they give but I refused to repurchase them because of the ingredients, guess what their responses were "Thanks for your concern" REALLY shouldn't they be concerned as well smh, anyway finger, toes and eyes crossed for luck..LOL..Stay Blessed

I would love to win it because I've never actually tried this brand and I've heard a number of people say great things about it. With minis, I can see if I like it without wasting a whole container of product with not having anyone to give it to. This is the second time that I've gone natural, and the first time was years ago. ReplyDeleteI would love to be selected to win this mini set by OM because I have recently dyed my hair BLONDE! I have been natural for almost 3 years nows now so my fro is borderline large. As naturals we don't see nearly as many blonde fros as natural colored fros in the community. Because I bleached my hair, my issue with dryness has multiplied by at least 3 times! I have a hard time searching for a product that can keep my hair moisturized. I am pretty familiar with OM Hair Bling which makes this set even better! The moisture that you received in your video would be extremely ideal if I could attain the same results on my hair! Please consider me to be apart of the four selected winners!

I would love to try the original moxie line. I've heard nothing but good things about the line, but hesitate to try new things because it can get really expensive.

I love protective styling... low manipulation works best for my hair.

ReplyDeleteI would like to win these samples sizes because it has not been an easy journey finding out what really works for me. I am a student who is on a very tight budget and testing this products here and testing that product over there there is not feasible for me. My natural hair journey has evolved into something greater; I am detoxing my body and spirit--with natural goodness. I feel as though this is a great opportunity for me to experience the goodness that you and other youtubers have expressed in using these products.

ReplyDeleteIm a #NewNatural. Did the big chop NYE 2012 and Ive been having an issue with moisture. Im 4b/4c so ive heard that's common. I would like to try out more pricey brands but im scared to spend all that money and it still not work. This is perfect!

While watching your videos as well as many talented others I have embraced the joy of being a natural beauty inside and out. What better way to show case my natural beauty creatively through my natural hair journey. May 18th 2013 put me at one year natural and I am still going strong. Now that I have some length, my creative juices flow much more freely, I would adore the chance to have the opportunity to try a new product that will give me the tools and inspiration to mold and sculpt my hair into a work of art while retaining moisture. This is why I would want to win my own set of Moxie minis.

As of yet, I have not found a staple product for a styler or moisturizer. Since you've used the Original Moxie products for over 3 years. It shows they've been tested to be true. I need to get ahold of these products that can moisturize my hair situation.
